Juan Manuel Fangio
Fangio At the Italian Grand, held at
Fangio, at this time, was heralded as the greatest driver of all time, and, to some today, they still believe that he is today! When the Italian Grand Prix arrived and Fangio took pole position, nobody could have expected the epic battle that was to take place.
To everybody’s amazement it was Moss who took the lead early on in his Maserati 250F with the two Lancia Ferrari’s driven by Collins and Fangio wrestling each other and Moss for the lead for practically the whole race of close quarter jostling for the lead. This pencil drawing shows the racing legend that is Juan Manuel Fangio driving his Ferrari to its absolute limits in an attempt to take the chequed flag. Evidence of this epic race can clearly be seen with the stone peppered front of his car. It was Sterling Moss who won the race just 5.7 seconds ahead of Fangio and Collins!
This pencil drawing represents a piece of F1 motor racing history!
